Class of Work: Pavement Surfacing or Highway Construction. The start date is the date on which the Notice to Proceed is issued, which is anticipated to be day of contract execution. The approximate time for completion is December 31, 2024, with substantial completion on or before October 31, 2024. SUMMARY OF WORK The work under this Contract consists of furnishing all necessary labor, materials, and equipment necessary for the installation of the hot mix asphalt (HMA) superpave surface course and the cold in place recycling of the existing hot mix asphalt (HMA) pavement surface to the required depth with specialized equipment blending the processed material with a foamed asphalt stabilizing agent, water and other additives as necessary, and placement and compaction of the resulting mix back onto to the roadway. This Contract shall also consist of supplying all required labor, materials and equipment needed to construct new cement concrete sidewalks/ramps/driveway aprons and hot mix asphalt sidewalks/driveway aprons, reset curbing. install new curbing, reconstruct and/or repair existing driveways and sidewalks, and all other work described in this document and as directed by the City Engineer. The work shall be performed on Austin Street from Chestnut Street to Lowell Avenue, and the west side of Albemarle Road from Crafts Street to Watertown Street in the City of Newton.
