COMPLETION OF WORK: The Work must be completed within three hundred and sixty-five (365) calendar days after the commencement date stated in the Notice to Proceed. End Date 11/24/202 All communications relative to this Work shall be directed to the Owner prior to opening of the bids: Long Beach Utilities Department Groundwater Treatment Plant 2950 Redondo Ave Long Beach, CA 90806 Attention: Kenny Chau Telephone: (562) 896-0239 Email: Kenny.Chau@lbwater.org BID SECURITY: Bidders must scan and upload with their bid documents a certified check or bank draft payable to the Long Beach Utilities Department, drawn on a solvent bank in the United States of America, or a satisfactory bond in an amount not less than 10 percent of the Bid. The original of the above instrument shall be submitted to the Long Beach Utilities Department in a sealed envelope and must be received and time/date stamped by the Long Beach Utilities Department no later than the time and date stated for receipt of bids. The outside of this envelope shall clearly state "Bid Security for WD-04-24, Treatment Plant Filter Inspection and Repair Services. DO NOT OPEN WITH REGULAR MAIL." The Long Beach Utilities Department's Groundwater Treatment Plant is located at 2950 Redondo Ave, Long Beach, CA 90806. OPENING OF BIDS: All Bids received in a timely manner will be subject to further evaluation with respect to: o The responsiveness of the Bid o Determination that Bidder is responsible The Contractor, simultaneously with the execution of the Contract, will be required to furnish a payment bond and a performance bond, each in an amount equal to one hundred (100) percent of the Contract Price. Said bonds shall be secured from a surety satisfactory to Owner and who is authorized to transact business in California. Said bonds shall continue in full force and effect for the guarantee period. The Work involves furnishing all labor, equipment and materials necessary to remove existing filter media from filtration system for inspection and repair of the system, including the underdrain system, filter walls, and any related components to the filter structure. Additional work may include data collection and performance evaluation to assess filter performance. Bids shall not contain any additional description or summaries of the Work to be done, and shall not be modified in any way by bidders. Alternates will not be considered, except as called for. No oral, telegraphic, or telephonic bids or modifications will be considered. The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all bids, to waive any informality in a bid, and to make an award to the lowest responsible bidder as it may best serve the interest of the Owner.
