The scope of work includes replacement of an existing roof-mounted packaged air conditioning unit serving the Board of Water Supply (BWS) Beretania Engineering Building with a new packaged air conditioning unit mounted on a new elevated equipment platform in the courtyard parking lot. Work also includes, connecting the new packaged air conditioning unit to the existing building Metasys Direct Digital Controls (DDC) system, connecting the new package air conditioning unit duct smoke detector to the existing fire alarm system, relocating an existing ground mounted air-cooled condensing unit to the new equipment platform, installation of a new parking canopy attached to the new equipment platform, providing new LED lighting beneath the equipment platform and parking canopy, and other related work. The contractor shall phase the work to minimize air conditioning downtime for the building when the existing units are removed and the new unit is installed. Air conditioning and power outages shall be limited to after normal business hours and weekends, as approved by BWS. Contractor shall coordinate with BWS, when air conditioning outages, power outages, interior renovation work, and parking in the courtyard are permitted.
