The Project is generally de- scribed as but not limited to; Roland Johnson Parkway Rehabilitation Project Includes resurfacing approximately 0.16 miles of roadway beginning East of Railroad Bridge off Highway 31to 800 Eastward towards County Road 532. A Certified Check or Bid Bond for 5% of the bid price (maximum-$10,000) must accompany each bid made payable to the Town of Garden City as evidence of good faith. A 100% Performance Bond and a 100% Payment Bond shall be furnished by the successful contractor. All bidders must comply with the requirements of the Contractors Licensing Law of the State of Alabama and be certified for the type of work for which a proposal is submitted. Award will be made only to competent and responsible bidders as mandated by Title39 of the Code of Alabama. All bidders must be licensed under Title 34 of the Code of Alabama. The bidder is hereby notified that they must provide the information necessary to show evidence of license before an award is made. The Contractor may include the following information with his bid: Name of Company, Address of Company, Telephone Number of Company, Company Contact Person, Contractors Current License Number, Issuing Agency(State and Expiration Date), Bid Limit and Classification. No bidder may withdraw his bid within 30 (thirty) days after the actual date of the opening thereof. The successful bidder will be allowed 30 (thirty) days to complete this project. The proposed project includes approximately 0.16 miles of roadway resurfacing along Roland Johnson Parkway in the Town of Garden City, in Cullman County, beginning at the east side of the Railroad Bridge off US-31 going 800' Eastward towards County Road 532. This arterial roadway is subjected to high volumes of truck traffic between Cullman and Blount counties. Improvements are recommended to prevent further degradation and its costly reconstruction in the future. The project scope includes a 1.5" asphalt wearing surface overlay; the approximate roadway width is 28-feet. Replacement of an existing, deteriorated corrugated metal drainage pipe at the intersection of CR-532 shall be completed prior to resurfacing. The replacement culvert shall be dual-wall, high-density polyethylene (equal to ADS HP-Storm) or reinforced concrete pipe, equal to the size of the existing pipe. Associated items of work shall include pipe bedding and backfill, concrete paving for end treatments and connections to existing concrete flumes, milling for connections to existing asphalt, striping (equal to existing) and final site restoration. Approximately 19.2 miles of roadway improvements along CR-26 (Roland Johnson Parkway) in Blount County were completed following award of ATRIP funding in 2013. The proposed project is a continued investment in critical asset management and traffic safety to benefit the citizens of Cullman and Blount counties. Construction shall conform to ALDOT standard specification for highway construction, 2022 edition.
