Site work and paving for a bridge / tunnel in Midvale, Idaho. Completed plans call for site work for a bridge / tunnel; and for paving for a bridge / tunnel.
This project will replace the existing 18.6 ft wide by 63 ft long existing bridge that carries River Road over Dixie Creek with a new single span voided slab concrete bridge that is 28 ft wide by 85 ft long. The existing concrete vertical face north abutment will be removed. The North abutment is partially below the ordinary high water mark. The north bank will be armored with riprap (approximately 250 cy). The new pile supported north abutment will be set back behind the riprap slopes. The existing concrete vertical face south abutment will remain in place but saw cut and partially modified to accommodate a new south abutment setback from the existing. The new south abutment is a concrete abutment founded on rock. Construction will include minor gravel road approach work. Access across Dixie Creek must remain open at all times. A shoofly is anticipated for temporary traffic control to keep the access open. The project is subject to environmental permitting through Idaho Department of Water Resources and US Army Corps of Engineers for the shoofly and work beneath the ordinary high water mark.
