Site work for a bridge / tunnel in Hancock, Vermont. Completed plans call for site work for a bridge / tunnel.

The Town of Hancock requires that any Vehicle exceeding the twenty-four thousand (24,000) pound weight limit with or without load, obtain an overweight permit. The Town of Hancock has restrictions on its roads and obtaining this permit is the only way to operate legally on the Hancock Road System. 1. Rip Rap - At the location of the rip rap slope collapse on the downstream side of the culvert, contractor shall install 20ft high x 40ft long bank of Rip Rap for the protection of Shampeny Hill Road from erosion and high-water events. The work area is marked by stakes with orange marking tape. See Diagram on last page Stone Fill Slope Protection with Stone Toe Wall”. 2. Head Wall & Side Walls – At the entrance to the culvert, the damaged head wall and side walls shall be removed and replaced in kind. 3. Guard Rails – Per the attached Stone Fill Slope Protection with Stone Toe Wall” diagram, guardrails shall be installed on the south side (downstream side) of Shampeny Hill Rd. The length of the guardrail shall be 104 linear feet. 4. Road surface shall be graded and finished with crushed gravel that meets codes and standards at completion of the project. 5. A pre-construction meeting is required with the contractor, a representative from the Town of Hancock, and the ANR River Management Engineer. 6. The submission of a water control plan shall be provided no less than 2 weeks prior to the start of construction and approved by the Regional River Management Engineer. 7. It shall be the Contractors responsibility to remove all excess materials generated from this project. 8. This project shall meet the standards detailed in subsection E.2.1 and E.2.2 of the ANR Stream Alteration General Permit. 9. This project shall meet the Stream Alteration Standards to the greatest extent possible. 10. Work shall be completed by October 1, 2024. 11. A Vermont Stream Alteration Permit has been issued for this project and a copy is attached to this prospectus The Town of Hancock reserves the right to reject any and all bids. Project completion date: October 1, 2024 Location: The worksite is located approximately 0.25 miles up Tucker Brook Rd. from VTRoute 125 at the intersection of Tucker Brook Rd. and Shampeny Hill Rd. The worksite is currently marked by stakes with orange marking tape.
