Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in Waipahu, Hawaii. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway; for paving for a road / highway; sidewalk / parking lot; sidewalk / parking lot; and water / sewer project.
The project proposes road improvements to the intersections of Mahoe Street with Waipahu, Hapapa, Huakai, Hiapo, and Hina Streets, and at the intersection of Mahoe Street and Mahoe Place. The purpose of the project is to provide a safer pedestrian environment for students attending August Ahrens Elementary School (AAES) located on the northeast corner of Mahoe Street/Waipahu Street intersection. The proposed project will redesign the intersections to provide safer crossings. Improvements will include new bulbouts (curb extensions)/sidewalks, speed table/crosswalks, new asphalt pavement, new sign posts, street lighting, drainage improvements and utility relocations as needed to complete the roadway work.
