Chiller Rebuild Bid Check in with Customer
o Bring tools and supplies into mechanical room
o Perform a complete leak check with electronic leak detector
o Megger compressor motor and oil pump motor
o Remove refrigerant and weigh, using EPA approved equipment and document the process
o Lock/Tag-out all applicable energy sources
o Disconnect all relief piping & power conduits to motor and remove of compressor & motor to
ground
o Remove used oil, dispose of oil offsite..
o Disassemble compressor and motor on ground
o Take axial thrust reading and record
o Remove, clean, and inspect the impeller and diffuser
o Remove, clean, and inspect the high-speed assembly
o disassemble split ring diffuser, inspect, and clean.
o Remove stator assembly Take axial thrust reading and record
o Remove rotor and transmission
o Remove/ Measure rotor shaft bearings
o Measure and record all journal bearing clearances
o Inspect bull and pinion gears for wear
o Clean and inspect thrust bearing assembly, shaft, and thrust shoes
o Inspect internal piping
o Check motor bearing safeties
o Inspect motor cooling orifices
o Remove, clean, and inspect float assembly
o Remove, clean, and inspect oil pump and sump
o Reassemble transmission assembly
o Reassemble motor and compressor using all new gaskets and O-rings
o Re-install motor and compressor
o Nitrogen Leak test after reassembly, evacuate to 500 microns and prove via standing vac test.
o All work will be done on a straight time basis, 7:00 am to 3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.
o Refrigerant and/or refrigerant oil removed from room air conditioning machinery if disposed shall be
disposed off offsite at contractors expense.
o Additional refrigerant and oil is included in this proposal and is at contractor's expense.
o Upon further inspection of the chiller, if any repairs are found to be necessary, they will be
quoted as an extra to this proposal. Question Deadline 04/29/2024 at 10:30 AM CT No questions will be accepted 24 hours prior to the bid opening.
