Renovation of an educational facility in New York, New York. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.
The Work of the Project is defined by the immediately following Project Description herein below and by the Contract Documents. Project Description: This project includes demolition and construction of the existing closets in the Coed Residence Hall Apartments on floors 13-15. Doors, shelving, rods, towel bars, hooks, and hardware are to be removed, Only the shell of the closets remain. Contractor will be responsible for patching and painting the interiors prior to installation of new doors and hardware. Note, a mock-up of one completed closet is to be approved by the Architect prior to outfitting all closets. Accessories include new base, trim, shelf, mirrors, towel bars, door stops, and hardware. Provide labor, materials, tests, tools, and equipment to complete the closet installation in the Coed Apartments. Contractor may begin procurement of materials of existing conditions following award as well as submission of shop drawings. Contractor is responsible for moving all furniture in the rooms to the side and protecting it during construction. No furniture may be stacked or moved out of the room. Upon substantial completion, all furniture to be moved back to its general position. FIT will be responsible for the final layout of furniture. For the purposes of this project (the "Project") the Fashion Institute of Technology and its auxiliary dormitory organization, the F.I.T. Student Housing Corporation, shall hereinafter be collectively referred to as "FIT" unless otherwise distinguished herein. Neither the Fashion Institute of Technology nor F.I.T. Student Housing Corporation will be responsible for receipt of any Bid which does not comply with the instructions as set forth further in this document. Answers shall be provided in the form of and Addendum and be posted on the FIT purchasing department website.
