The City of Pasadena Public Library is seeking the services of a qualified firm to furnish and install new steel slide gate with new slide gate operator and to to replace the existing rollup door operator. The City of Pasadena, CA is seeking a qualified contractor to furnish and install a new steel slide gate with slide gate operator(s) at a specified location and to to replace the existing rollup door operator and replace it with new 2HP lift master (or equivalent) with WiFi wireless capability to open and close using my Q app or equivalent. Add new photo eyes for additional safety. The existing door does not have any safety features only a momentary open/close switch. The existing door is currently in good operating condition. The purpose of this project is to enhance the security and access control for the designated areas. The contractor will be responsible for supplying all necessary materials, equipment, and labor required for the successful completion of the project. Bidders must possess and provide the following license(s) or certification(s) to be deemed qualified to perform the work specified: C-10 license and C-61 Limited Specialty with a D-28 (Doors, Gates and Activating Devices) License. Failure of the contractor to meet the delivery date will result in damages being sustained by the City of Pasadena. Such damages are, and will continue to be, impracticable and extremely difficult to determine. For each consecutive calendar day in excess of the delivery date the Contractor shall pay the City of Pasadena, or have withheld from monies due it, the sum of $100 per day. Bid security in the amount of five percent (5%) of the total bid price in the form of a surety bond, meeting City requirements, must accompany all bids. If the Bidder to whom the contract is awarded shall for fifteen (15) calendar days after such award fail or neglect to enter into the contract and file the required bonds, the City may deposit in its treasury said bid security and, under no circumstances, shall it be returned to the defaulting Bidder. (Or Equivalent) 2. Provide a concrete housekeeping pad for the mounting of the new operator. 3. Include raintight Reflective reversing photo eye(s) and rear entrapment sensing edge(s). 4. My- Q app-based module, enables smartphone control for MyQ (R) products (Wi-Fi and IP address will be supplied by others) include programming and setup in the scope of work. (Or Equivalent) 5. Provide 6ft high Commercial grade, new steel slide gate (Tandem steel gate) with 12' fixed section, new floor v-groove track, Useable opening will be 20' wide. Black finish color. 6. Include Concrete saw cut for inside safety and free exit traffic loops with sealant to protect the cable. 7. Outside weatherproof programmable keypad with mounting support 8. Check Gates(s) and controls for proper operation. 9. Include lead times for fabrication and material procurement in the bid. 10. Work to be performed during regular business hours Mon - Fri 8:00 am to 4:00 pm. 11. Work needs to be completed before July 1st, 2024. 12. Includes Material, Tax, Asphalt/Concrete sawing, asphalt/concrete demo/removal and patch. 13. Labor will be priced at the Prevailing wage rate. 14. Include 120V electrical with service disconnect for operator per NEC 2023. B. Rollup Door 1. (1) replace old operator with new lift master 2HP heavy duty operator (or equal) with My Q app opening capability. 2. 50 link drive chain. 3. Install new open/close/stop button on the inside of the facility. 4. Safety eye sensor and all associated hardware and final connections. 5. Outside keypad (weather tight). 6. 4- clicker type remote controls. 7. Re - use existing power. Disconnect means must comply with NEC Electrical code. 8. Remove all old equipment off site. 9. Provide 1 year industry standard warranty. 10. Include all equipment ,materials for a complete installation. 11. Ensure new operator is tested and operating properly. Service Requirements: A. Prior to installation, the contractor shall obtain all required permits and approvals from the City of Pasadena, ensuring compliance with local regulations. B. The contractor shall ensure the gate/gate operator(s)/rollup door operator are installed in accordance with the manufacturer's specifications and industry best practices. C. All electrical connections shall be executed by a C-10 license contractor and certified electricians, complying with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and local electrical codes. D. C-61 Limited Specialty with a D-28 (Doors, Gates and Activating Devices) License E. The contractor shall conduct thorough testing and commissioning of the gate/gate operator(s)/rollup door operator to ensure proper functionality and performance. F. Any necessary adjustments, repairs, or replacements resulting from defects or malfunctions during a minimum one-warranty period shall be promptly addressed by the contractor at no additional cost to the City.
