Solid Waste Collection / Disposal And Single-Stream Recycling Contract Period The Contract Period or Term shall commence on July 1, 2024 and shall continue through June 30, 2027. The District shall have the right and option to extend the contract period for up to two (2) one-year periods. To exercise this option, the Hudson School District will provide the Contractor with written notice at lease six (6) months prior to the contract's expiration, unless the Contractor waives the requirement in writing. The terms of the Contract shall apply to the two (2) one-year extensions. Each bid must be accompanied by a Cashier's or Certified check, or an acceptable Bid Bond, payable to the Hudson School District, in the amount of not less than five (5%) percent of the total bid as security that the Bidder will enter into a contract and furnish the required bonds and insurance within fourteen (14) days after the Notice of Award of the Contract has been received. Each bid shall be placed, together with the bid security and other required documentation, in an envelope sealed and clearly identified as "SOLID WASTE/SINGLE-STREAM RECYCLING BID" addressed to the Hudson School District and shall be enclosed in an additional envelope. Bids will not be accepted or considered unless received on or before the bid date and time. The Hudson School Board reserves the right to waive any informality or to accept or reject any or all bid(s). Notice of Award will be given to the successful bidder(s) by the Hudson School District to the address referenced on the Bid Form. Bid security will be returned to all except two (2) bidders within fifteen (15) days after the date of bid opening. The remaining securities will be returned promptly after the Hudson School District and the successful bidder have executed a contract, or within sixty (60) days after the date of bid opening, or upon request of the bidder at any time thereafter so long as it has not been notified of the acceptance of its bid. The Contract will include all contract documents and pertinent specifications. Within fourteen (14) days after the award of the Contract, the successful bidder shall execute the Contract in triplicate, and furnish the Hudson School District with a Performance Bond in the full amount of the contract price executed by a surety company acceptable to the Hudson School District. The successful bidder, upon its failure or refusal to execute and deliver the Contract and Bonds required within fourteen (14) days after it has received Notice of Award, shall forfeit to the Hudson School District, as liquidated damages for such failure or refusal, the security deposited with its bid. The Contract will not be binding upon the Hudson School District until it has been approved and executed by the Hudson School Board. Bond Requirements Prior to commencing performance of the Contract, the Contractor must provide a Performance Bond in the amount of 100% of the full contract price executed by a Surety company acceptable to the District. Permits and Licenses The Contractors, at its expense, shall maintain throughout the entire contract period, all permits, licenses and approvals necessary or required for the Contractor to perform the services described herein.
