Overview: Rockdale County desires to enter into a Design Build contract for the design, construction, and installation of Monument Signage with Landscaping enhancements at two existing county entrances located on I-20 Eastbound at Sigman Road and on I-20 Westbound at Salem Road. The Monument Signage with Landscaping enhancements are to be formidable and visually encapsulate/ convey the distinctive character of Rockdale County. The Monument Signage with Landscaping enhancements shall incorporate the existing county entrances landscaping, hardscapes and rocks into the new Monument Signage and Landscape design. 2. Description: The successful bidder, as Design Build Contractor, shall provide the monument sign design and landscaping enhancement drawings to Rockdale County for review and revisions as needed. Upon design approval, the Design Build Contractor shall provide construction documents to Rockdale County for permitting. Upon approval of permit, the Design Build Contractor is to commence construction. The Design Build Contractor is to furnish all material, labor, and equipment necessary for site preparation and construction according to the construction documents. The Design Build Contractor is to meet or exceed established industry standards for construction projects of this type. The Contractor will obtain the necessary construction permits for the project. All county fees will be waived. Bidders are responsible for submitting a design which incorporates the following elements: a. Permanent exterior freestanding Monument Sign. b. Monument Sign design to be large, formidable and eye catching. c. Incorporates the use of existing entrance landscaping, rock hardscapes and rock walls. d. Incorporate the County Logo into Monument Sign design. e. Monument Sign to be clearly visible at 65 mph during the day. f. Orientation of Monument Signage to face traffic entering county on I-20. fully complete all work hereunder within ninety (90) days. The Enhanced County Entrances with Monument Signage will be located at the I-20 Eastbound Offramp at Sigman Road and at the I-20 Westbound Offramp at Salem Road. The signage shall incorporate and work with the existing rock, landscape, and wall areas. The diagrams for both sites are attached as Exhibit #1.
