Site work, paving and remodeling of a mixed-use development in Austin, Texas. Conceptual plans call for the remodel of a playground / park / athletic field; for site work for a playground / park / athletic field; and for paving for a playground / park / athletic field.
The following guiding principles in design were established by community input when designing the park concept plan: 1. Access: Incorporate connections within the park to allow access for all to the entire park 2. Shade: Improve park comfort by increasing shade canopy and incorporating pavilions 3. Community Hub: Include Park amenities that allow active recreation options for all 4. Connection to Nature: Foster connections with nature by preserving existing wildflowers and creating community gardens and food forest. 5. Safety: Lay out the space and include lighting to maintain visibility and provide buffers between active recreation and roadways. This project part of the Austin Parks Foundation, in collaboration with the City of Austin Parks and Recreation Department and the Friends of Grand Meadow, is seeking administration approval for adoption of the plan and is scheduled for Winter 2024 for Concept Plan Adopted (complete).
