Site and Project Description DLZ is preparing plans for the proposed improvements of the existing Water Treatment Plant in Wakarusa, Indiana. The project site is located west of Maple Lane and north of Wabash Avenue. The site is presently occupied by a plant building, shed, Well#1 and Well House Building surrounded by a grassy open field. Available topographic drawings suggest that the existing ground is relatively flat with a mild downward slope from the southwest towards the northeast with corresponding ground elevations varying between about 865 ft near the southwest to about 859 ft, MSL, near the northeast corner of the site. Based on the available drawings, the project will include two new wells (Wells #3 and #4), and an addition to the existing WTP building covering about 600 sft in plan area. The new reaction and aerator basins will reportedly bear about 13 ft below finished grade. The well houses will reportedly be constructed both covering about 13.5 ft by 30.5 ft in plan dimensions. The project will also include related water main installation for the proposed improvements.
