Site work for a civil project in Granger, Iowa. Completed plans call for site work for a water / sewer project.

Construction new water tower including all labor, equipment and materials necessary for a pedestal spheroid water tower with a size of 250,000 gallons (Alternate A), 300,000 gallons (Alternate B), or 400,000 gallons (Alternate C), or a composite elevated tank water tower with a size of 250,000 gallon (Alternate D), 300,000 gallons (Alternate E) or 400,000 gallons (Alternate F), site work, driveway, water main, electrical and control, and miscellaneous associated work including cleanup. The project is located in the 13800 block of NW 110th Avenue in Granger, Iowa. The City reserves the right to reject any or all bids, to waive informalities or technicalities in any bid and to accept the bid which it deems to be to the best interest of the City DESCRIPTION A. Prepare and submit to Engineer for review, estimated construction progress schedule. B. No work shall be performed between 7:00 P.M. and 7:00 A.M., nor on Sundays, or legal holidays without permission of Owner. C. Night work may be established by Contractor as regular procedure with permission of Owner. Such permission, however, may be revoked at any time by Owner if Contractor fails to maintain adequate equipment and supervision for proper prosecution and control of work at night. This section describes the following: 1. Earthwork for construction of the new Water Tower. a. Excavate and compact earth as specified hereinafter to provide finish grade as shown on drawings. b. Remove and stockpile top 6" of topsoil for replacement when site grading is complete. c. Provide necessary machine or hand finishing and shaping to cross sections as shown on drawings. d. Pile excavated material, suitable for backfill, in an orderly manner a sufficient distance back from edge of excavation to avoid slides or cave-ins; 2'-0" minimum clear distance. e. Remove and dispose of spoil and excess excavated material not suitable for trench, structural or embankment backfill at location directed by Engineer. f. Excavate in open cut, except as noted on drawings or as directed by Engineer. g. Do not damage trees and plantings except as noted on drawings or as directed by Engineer. h. Reference to percent maximum density shall mean a soil density not less than the stated percent of maximum density of optimum moisture content for soils as determined by ASTM D698, Moisture-density Relations of Soils, using 5.5-lb. Rammer and 12-in Drop.
