The BPU Department of Purchasing and Supply seeks bids for an experienced Contractor to replace existing small diameter galvanized and cast iron pipe in the water distribution system. The method of replacement for the aged water main under this contract will be Horizontal Directional Drilling (HDD). The Contractor shall provide all services to install the pipe, pressure test and transfer water services to the new main in accordance with the specifications as detailed herein. Hybrid meeting both virtual and in person Physical location: 300 N 65th Street, Kansas City, Kansas 66102 All bids in excess of $100,000.00 must be accompanied by bid security in the form of a bank-certified check or a Bid Bond underwritten by a surety company licensed to issue Bid Bonds in the State of Kansas. The bid security shall be in an amount not less than five percent (5%) of the total bid. The Bid Bond shall be in substantially the Bid Bond form provided in these Bidding Documents. The check or Bid Bond shall be made payable to the Kansas City Board of Public Utilities. Upon execution of a contract between the BPU and a bidder, the checks shall be returned to the bidders. This project requires compliance with the Davis-Bacon Wage Act. Additional information will be provided at the pre-bid conference. A proposer may not withdraw its Proposal after the submittal deadline. BPU reserves the right to accept or reject the bids after evaluation.
