In general, the work shall consist of furnishing all labor, materials, equipment, and incidentals for construction of the following work: 1. The demolition of Incinerator No. 1 primary heat exchanger upper and lower plenums. Removal and salvage of the primary heat exchanger section and bypass duct and shipping the heat exchanger section back to the manufacturer for refurbishment. The refurbished heat exchanger section will be shipped back to Southerly and stored at the plant. 2. Cleaning and disposal of incinerator ash solids and other materials within the heat exchanger, plenums and connecting ducts. 3. The installation of the new primary heat exchanger upper plenum, heat exchanger, bypass air duct and lower plenum. 4. Heat exchanger air duct flange connections will be disconnected and reinstalled: Main hot gas exhaust duct from incinerator to upper plenum, Preheated hot air duct from the heat exchanger to the incinerator, Fluidizing cold air supply duct to the heat exchanger and fluidizing cold air bypass supply duct and lower plenum hot gas discharge duct. The installation of duct supports. 5. Pressure and temperature instrumentation piping work. 6. Restoration of site and/or building areas disturbed during construction. The MBE/WBE goal for this Contract is 5.0%. The Engineer's Estimate for the Southerly Primary Heat Exchanger Replacement is $8,300,000.00. Bidders shall review the Instructions to Bidders and all other contract documents prior to submitting a bid for this project. The Contract will be subject to the NEORSD policies and goals regarding the use of minority, women business enterprises (MBE/WBE). This policy is contained in the Contract Specifications.
