Reference Number 0000350433 The City of Durango invites interested, qualified persons or firms, capable of providing the required service to submit bids for two temporary expanded sidewalks on Main Avenue, Installation Assistance, and Traffic Control as part of the City of Durango's Downtown's Next Step Design pilot project. The City of Durango is currently designing pedestrian and accessibility improvements along Main Avenue between College Drive and 8th Street as part of the overall Downtown's Next Step Project, which includes a conceptual design for the entire corridor between 5th Street and 14th Street. The City of Durango will be demonstrating some of the design elements during 2024 as a pilot project. The temporary sidewalk expansions will be up to 100-feet at two locations to be determined along Main Avenue between College Drive and 14th Street. The temporary sidewalk needs to be flush even with the curb to provide as natural of a transition as possible, allowing for an ADA compliant experience. The temporary sidewalk should taper diagonally at both ends to provide a natural transition. The temporary sidewalk should use muted, natural colors that match the existing pedlet on Main Avenue, as to distract from the historic nature of Main Avenue and bring continuity to downtown. The budget for this project is $160,000. The selected contractor, and/or their subs shall be responsible for setup and oversight of the traffic control. i) Bids shall include a tentative timeframe and schedule for work, as well as a firm fixed price for the scope of work meeting the specification above. j) All work must be coordinated, in advance, with City staff to allow adequate public notice of the impact to businesses on Main Ave. k) Poured concrete is not permitted. l) All materials must be able to be assembled and disassembled for seasonal use.
