General work description: The work, in general, consists of replacing existing asphalt concrete surfacing, applying a polymer modified rejuvenating chip seal, applying asphalt-rubber binder with precoated chip seal, placing fog seal, replacing thermoplastic traffic stripes and pavement markings and markers on Deschutes Road, Dry Creek Road, Oak Run Road, and Old 44 Drive. work includes resurfacing the road: 1. Complete the trenching before the final pavement layer is applied 2. Backfill the trench with slurry cement up to the pavement's surface by the end of each workday Questions about alleged patent ambiguity of the plans, specifications, or estimate must be asked before bid opening. After bid opening, the Department does not consider these questions as bid protests. Do not fax forms except for the copies of forms with public works contractor registration number submitted after the time of bid. Fax these copies to (530) 225-5667. Submit shop drawings for tubular railing. Shop drawings must include: 1. Details for venting holes in rails, posts, and sleeves 2. Railing layout 3. Complete details for the construction of the work including methods of construction, sequence of shop and field assembly, galvanization, and installation procedures Submit 7 copies of the shop drawings. Allow 25 days for review. Upon authorization, the Engineer returns 2 copies to you for use during construction Submit 5 copies of shop drawings. Upon review completion, submit from 6 to 12 copies, as requested, for authorization and use during construction. Shop drawings and calculations must be stamped and signed by an engineer who is registered as a civil engineer in the State. Shop drawings must include: 1. Your name, address, telephone number, and email address. 2. Plans showing the layout, identification, and working surface and bottom elevations of prefabricated vertical drains. 3. Proposed installation sequence. 4. Proposed method to loosen and penetrate stiff upper soil layers before installing prefabricated vertical drains and method to backfill the loosen holes, if needed. 5. Manufacturer, model number, description and specifications of installation equipment. 6. Manufacturer, model number, description and specifications of devices for measuring and recordin plumbness, installation length, and depth. Note that there are local blueprinting companies that can download and sell paper copies of the bid documents, construction drawings and specifications. Bidders are responsible for arranging and purchasing these paper copies if they so choose Each bid must be in accordance with the bid documents, construction drawings, and specifications on file at the Shasta County Department of Public Works 1855 Placer Street, Redding, California 96001. These bid documents, construction drawings and specifications are available for viewing or downloading through the Shasta County Department of Public Works website at: https://www.shastacounty.gov/public-works/page/bids-proposals Prevailing wages are required on this Contract. Wage rates and restrictions on working days and times shall meet all requirements of the Labor Code of the State of California for public contracts.
