The City of Hendersonville is seeking qualifications from firms for Engineering Services for WWTF 6MGD Expansion. See the attached RFQ for further details. The following schedule will be utilized. Deadline for Vendor Questions May 13, 2024 Direct all inquiries concerning this RFQ to: Devin Owen, PE Utilities Engineer City of Hendersonville dowen@hvlnc.gov The City intends to contract with one qualified firm to provide engineering services to support the Wastewater Treatment Facility (WWTF) 6 million gallons per day (MGD) Expansion and Improvements Project. The City's WWTF is located at 99 Balfour Road, Hendersonville, NC and has a current permitted capacity of 4.8 MGD. Once operational, the proposed components will provide storage and flow regulation entering the WWTF as well as an increased treatment capacity through the facility. The engineering services related to the project generally consists of the following; however, the scope may be refined during detailed design and as the project progresses:
o Headworks Improvements and Flow Equalization to include:
o Equalization basin
o Mechanical bar screen
o Vortex grit removal system
o 6 MGD influent pump station to include:
o Wet-well
o Pumps
o Force-main
o Abandonment of existing influent pump station
o Tertiary Filter No. 2 Replacement to include:
o Replace existing sand filter with AquaDiamond cloth media filter system
o Install clear span structure over tertiary filters
o Repair basin wall cracks
o Blower Building Improvements to include:
o Replacement of 250 horsepower aeration blowers with high efficiency blowers and
variable frequency drives
o Convert blower area into an enclosed blower room
The engineering services related to the contract generally consists of the following; however, the scope may be refined after further inspection, testing, and evaluation of existing conditions:
o Inspection, assessment, and evaluation of the existing relevant WWTF structures.
o Development of detailed alternatives analysis including an engineer's opinion of costs
over 20 year period.
o Deliver a sealed preliminary engineering report and presentation to City.
o Identify potential funding sources.
o Identify and perform necessary permitting requirements.
o Development of detailed construction plans and technical specifications including civil, mechanical, electrical, and structural designs.
o Bidding and construction phase support as allowed by applicable law. The method of Contractor Selection has not been Determined at this time.
