The results of the first round of bids showed confusion regarding the current width of the access drive, and the required replacement width of that same drive. This confusion made bid comparison impracticable, and as such, the Village has decided to reject the bids, and is inviting the bidder to submit updated bids pursuant to the clarification. As such, the Village is again seeking sealed bids to reconstruct, repave, and restore the Up-ground Reservoir's Main Roadway in the Village of Wellington. The project includes milling and removal of the existing driveway, proper disposal of millings and debris; excavation of the existing main drive. Project Dimensions: The existing driveway dimensions are: 1,147 feet in length, 16 feet wide, and 12 inches deep. The new driveway must be replaced with the same length and depth in the manner specified herein, but the existing drive must be widened 1 additional foot on each side for a total of 18 feet in final wide. Material Type: Base must include installation and compaction of a minimum of 8" depth of asphalt millings/stone base, with 2.5" of 448 (or similar) base course asphalt, with a 1.5" of 448 (or similar) top course asphalt, and mill butt joints and hot band joints where applicable. All questions should be submitted in writing to the Clerk's attention, and staff will provide written responses to all bidders. Each bid must be accompanied by a Bid Guaranty which shall be either a certified check payable to the Village of Wellington, or a bid bond satisfactory to the Village, in the sum of ten percent (10%) of the bid price. This contract is subject to Ohio Prevailing Wage Laws, Chapter 4115 of the Ohio Revised Code and the Contractor and all subcontractors shall comply with all provisions contained therein. The Village of Wellington reserves the right to accept the lowest and best bid, to reject any or all bids, to waive any informalities in the bids received, and to purchase those services which, in the sole judgment of the Village, will best suit the Village's needs.
