Scope of Work shall include the installation of approximately 2,630 LF of 8"-24" PVC sanitary sewer. Each Bid must be accompanied by a Bid Bond or a certified or cashier's check, acceptable to the Owner, in an amount not less than two percent (2%) of the total amount Bid, as a guarantee that the successful bidder will enter into the Contract and execute the Bonds on the forms and provide the required insurance certificates within seven (7) days after the date Contract Documents are received by the Contractor The successful bidder must furnish a Performance and a Payment Bond, each in the sum of 100 percent of the Contract Price and a two-year Maintenance Bond for 100 percent of the Contract Price, from a surety company holding a permit from the State of Texas to act as surety. Any questioned Work may be ordered by Engineer to be taken up or removed for reexamination prior to final acceptance, and if found not in accordance with the Contract Documents for said Work, all expense of removing, reexamination, and replacement shall be borne by Contractor; cost of uncovering any Work will be borne by Owner only when the Work is found acceptable and the Work was originally performed with the knowledge of the Engineer. The Contractor hereby agrees to begin work within 5 calendar days after Engineer has given written Notice to Proceed. Contractor hereby also agrees to achieve Substantial Completion of the Work within 45 calendar days after the date of the written Notice to Proceed. The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all Bids and to waive all defects and irregularities in bidding or bidding process except time of submitting a Bid. The Successful Bidder, if any, will be the responsible Bidder which in the Board's judgment will be most advantageous to the District and result in the best and most economical completion of the Project
