This contract provides for drainage improvements for the City of Lumberton, Texas along Candlestick Drive in Hardin County, Texas. The improvements shall include pipe removal and replacement and surface restoration. Question Deadline 05/14/2024 at 5:00 PM CT All questions shall be received in writing through online or via email until and addressed by Addendum. ) This contract shall include all necessary labor, materials, equipment, tools, inspection, testing, and superintendence required for the complete and functional improvements of the proposed project as shown on the contract plans and specifications. This contract includes, but is not limited to the following: Storm Sewer Improvements 1. Remove and replace approximately 1,760 linear feet of existing storm sewer. The Contractor's attention is called to various physical conditions along the routes as follows. 1. The Contractor shall take precautions to avoid damage to power lines, foundations, guy wires, and appurtenances. The Contractor shall observe all applicable OSHA and owner requirements while working near the overhead power lines including restriction of height of equipment. 2. During construction, the Contractor shall take the necessary precautions to avoid damaging existing utilities within the limits of the project site. SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS AND CLARIFICATIONS 1. The Contractor shall restore the work route to its original condition or better prior to acceptance by the Owner. 2. The Contractor shall contact the owner Mr. Steve Clark at (409) 755-3700 prior to starting any work within the project area. 3. Any changes in quantities will be addressed by change order and will have to be approved by the Owner before any work can be done. 4. All excess materials removed during the course of the project will have to be properly disposed of by the Contractor. A bid bond in the amount of 5 percent of the bid issued by an acceptable surety shall be submitted with each bid. A certified check or bank draft payable to the City of Lumberton or negotiable U.S. Government Bonds (at par value) may be submitted in lieu of the Bid Bond. The City of Lumberton reserves the right to reject any or all bids or to waive any informalities in the bidding. Bids may be held by City of Lumberton for a period not to exceed 60 days from the date of the bid opening for the purpose of reviewing the bids and investigating the bidder's qualifications prior to the contract award. All contractors/subcontractors that are debarred, suspended, or otherwise excluded from or ineligible for participation on federal assistance programs may not undertake any activity in part or in full under this project.
