Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in Concord, California. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway; for paving for a road / highway; sidewalk / parking lot; and sidewalk / parking lot.
Cowell Road Pavement Maintenance. Question Deadline 05/10/2024 at 4:00 PM PT. The deadline for submitting questions about this project. The Contractor shall possess at least one (1) of the following valid Contractor's licenses at the time the bids are opened: Class "A," General Engineering Contractor or Class "C-12," Earthwork and Paving Contractor. The bidder's attention is directed to the section of the Special Provisions regarding the requirement to enter into a Project Stabilization Agreement ("PSA") for City construction projects funded in whole or in part with City of Concord funds where the engineer's estimate or bid amount exceeds $750,000.00. The PSA also includes Helmets to Hardhats requirement. A copy of the PSA is attached and incorporated by reference. The Contractor may elect to receive 100% of payments due under the contract from time to time, without retention of any portion ofthe payment by the City, by depositing securities of equivalent value with the City in accordance with the provisions of Section 22300 of the Public Contract Code and with applicable City regulations. Such securities, if deposited by the Contractor, will be valued by the City's Finance Director, whose decision on valuation ofthe securities will be final. The work to be done in general consists of mobilization; traffic control; water pollution control program; clearing, grubbing, trimming, and root pruning; removing and replacing concrete sidewalk, curb, and gutter; cold planning of asphalt roadway; placement of Hot Mix Asphalt (HMA) materials; crack seal and slurry seal; lowering and adjusting utility covers to finish grade; removal and replacement of traffic striping and curb paint; and all other work shown on the Plans and as specified in these Special Provisions. All Bids Shall Be Presented Under Sealed Cover and Shall Be Accompanied by Cash, Cashier's or Certified Check or a Bidder's Bond Executed by a Corporate Surety Insurer. The Bidder's Guarantee Shall Be in an Amount Equal to at Least Ten Percent (10%) of the Amount Bid and Made Payable to the City of Concord. The estimated construction cost for the Base Bid is $1,250,000. This work shall be done in accordance with Section 17-2, Clearing and Grubbing, of the Standard Specifications, these Special Provisions, and as directed by the Engineer. Work under this section shall include: removal of all objectionable material in conflict with the work such as debris, shrubs, trees, and other vegetation; pruning and removing existing tree roots; trimming of tree canopy, shrubs and other vegetation; grinding tree stumps; and disposal of material at the end of each working day from within the specified work area, as shown on the Plans, as specified herein, and as directed by the Engineer.
