The City of Redwood City is seeking a qualified engineering firm to develop the design, plans, specifications, and cost estimates for the City's Recycled Water Main Downtown Extension Project. The City's current recycled water distribution system consists of two 2.2-million-gallon storage tanks, distribution pump station, and 17 miles of distribution pipelines. While there are more than 450 points of connection, the majority of the connections are within the Redwood Shores area or the area east of Woodside Road outside of the City's downtown area. The City desires to extend the recycled water resources/pipeline to downtown Redwood City as most recent and upcoming developments have been focused in the downtown area. The Recycled Water Main Downtown Extension Project will assist the City in attaining water supply and enable the City to increase its preservation and conservation of potable water in wet years to allow for useable water in dry years. The general scope of the project will be extending the existing 30" HDPE recycled water main approximately 1550 LF, from the intersection of Marshall Street and Jefferson Avenue to the intersection of Perry Street and Broadway Anticipated Contract Award Date July 2024 Interviews, demos, and oral presentations (if needed) May 27, 2024 The Consultant will be required to obtain and maintain insurance coverage for the duration of a contract. The Consultant will need to visit construction sites, perform work near and in traffic, and travel in and around project sites; in addition to commercial and automotive liability insurance coverage, the consultant shall also maintain coverage for professional liability. The Consultant shall agree to and deliver all insurance certificates, endorsements, and coverage set forth in the draft sample copy of the City's Standard Professional Services Agreement, see EXHIBIT "A" Item 12 Insurance. The insurance requirements include the following items. o General Liability Insurance coverage of at least $2,000,000 per occurrence o Automobile Liability Insurance coverage of at least $1,000,000 per accident o Employer's Liability Insurance coverage of at least $1,000,000 per accident o Professional Liability Insurance coverage of at least $1,000,000 per occurrence Furthermore, the City of Redwood City reserves the right to reject any or all proposals, and to waive any and all irregularities to choose the firm which, in the City's opinion, best serves the City's interests The method of Contractor Selection has not been Determined at this time.
