Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in Morris Plains, New Jersey. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway; for paving for a road / highway; sidewalk / parking lot; and sidewalk / parking lot.

As of June 28, 2024, project was awarded to Pike Industries with an awraded amount of $1,235,215.25. Improvements to Lealand Road, Cedar Avenue, Laurel Street, Hillside Court East, Allen Place, Wyckoff Way, Jaqui Avenue, Sun Valley Way & Freight Station Ramp. No bid may be withdrawn for sixty (60) days after the opening of bids. A Contract will be awarded to the lowest responsible bidder or all proposals will be rejected within sixty (60) days after the opening of bids. The Borough of Morris Plains reserves the right to reject all bids, to reject unbalanced bids, and to waive any informality in any bid. The work to be performed consists of the furnishing of all labor, equipment, materials and all else necessary to: repair and resurface approximately 2,395 tons of municipal roadway pavement, and perform other related work. The Contractor may commence work after the contracts are executed and after July 7, 2024. All work must be completed by August 23, 2024. This Contract is subject to all of the Department of Labor Safety and Health Regulations and to the applicable provisions of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970. Any bid submitted prior to the bid opening or by mail shall be in sealed envelope addressed to the Borough of Morris Plains, c/o Ana M. Thomas, Financial Administration, 531 Speedwell Avenue, Morris Plains, New Jersey 07950. While Borough offices remain open during business hours, the Municipal Building is closed to the general public during this pandemic. Bidders submitting bids prior to the 10:00 AM bid opening in the designated area of the parking lot for the Morris Plains Municipal Building, 531 Speedwell Avenue, Morris Plains, New Jersey are instructed to utilize the telephone in the outer lobby of the Municipal Building during business hours 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM to contact (1) the Borough Clerk's Office or (2) the Borough Treasurer/Finance Office to arrange for entry and access to the Drop Box installed in the lobby of the Municipal Building to deposit the sealed proposal. Each bid must be accompanied by a certified check, cashier's check, or bid bond in the amount of ten percent (10%) (not to exceed $20,000) of the total bid, payable to the Owner, as a guarantee that if the contract is awarded to the Bidder he will enter into a contract with the Owner. The successful Bidder will be required to furnish payment and performance bonds each in an amount equal to one hundred percent (100%) of the contract award. Each Bidder shall submit with his proposal a completed Consent of Surety Form, stating that the surety company will provide him with the required payment and performance bonds. The attention of the Bidder is called to the conditions of employment to be observed and minimum wage rates to be paid under the contract. The successful Bidder shall be required to comply with the provisions of the Department of Labor's current wage rate determination, The New Jersey Prevailing Wage Act, The Contract Work Hours and Safety Standards Act, The Copeland Act, and The Davis-Bacon Act. The Contract will be awarded to the lowest responsible bidder, as set forth in the Contract Documents, the right being reserved by the Borough to reject all proposals or any proposal which may be informal or the acceptance of which for any other reasons would be detrimental to the best interests of the Borough, and to waive informalities.
