The City of Hawaiian Gardens, Public Works Department, is requesting a Statement of Qualification (SOQ) from qualified civil engineering firms to provide Municipal Engineering Services on an "as-needed" contract basis. The City has relied primarily on the services of contract employees to provide City Engineering Services to the community. Engineering services are included within the Engineering Division of the Public Works Department. The City intends to select a single Consultant to provide the requested municipal engineering services; however, the City reserves the right to select one or more Consultants to provide as-needed municipal engineering services either through this RFP or through subsequent solicitations for as-needed municipal engineering services. The City will issue task orders for each project based upon a scope of work, work schedule, and fee proposal submitted to the City for its review and approval. The contract term shall be for three (3) years with the City receiving the option to grant two (2) one year extensions at the end of the term. Shortlist Firms based on qualifications Consultant Interview/Selection Period Determination of Most Qualified Firm(s) Negotiation of Contract and Final Scope of Work Contract Award (June/July 2024) In general, the consultant shall perform professional municipal engineering services including engineering and architectural design, surveying, geotechnical and traffic engineering, grant administration, project management, engineering support, Public Works permit administration, plan check, and labor compliance services on an "as- needed" basis for various CIP projects assigned by the City. The scope of work may include, but shall not be limited to, the following: a. City Engineering and Project Management Services b. As-Needed Traffic Engineering Services c. As-Needed Engineering and Architectural Design Services d. Labor Compliance Services The electronic version of the proposal must be an exact duplicate of the hard copies and the subject line must read "City of Hawaiian Gardens Proposal for Municipal Engineering Services". If the proposal includes any comments over and above the specific information requested in this RFP, such information should be included as a separate appendix and placed at the end of the proposal. The award of an agreement will be made to the most qualified Consultant(s) whose proposal complies with the prescribed requirements. The City reserves the right to reject any or all proposals and to waive any technical errors, irregularities, or discrepancies, if to do so is deemed to serve the best interests of the City. In no event will an award be made until all necessary investigations are made as to the responsibility and qualifications of the Consultant to whom it is proposed to make such an award. The method of Contractor Selection has not been Determined at this time.
