Site work, paving and renovation of a mixed-use development in Sunnyvale, California. Completed plans call for the renovation of a clubhouse / community center; for site work for a playground / park / athletic field; sidewalk / parking lot; for paving for a sidewalk / parking lot; and water / sewer project.
Furnishing all labor, materials, and equipment and performing all work necessary and incidental to the completion of the project known as "Community Center Grounds Renovation, PR-21-05" consisting of but not be limited to, the demolition of existing fountain and pond infrastructure, dewatering of pond and legal disposal of solid and liquid waste, select demolition of hardscape areas, site furnishings, and other site elements. Various pavement areas throughout the site will be selectively demolished and replaced to be brought into compliance with ADA requirements. Careful protection and temporary relocation of art components will be required. Natural grass areas shall be cleared and grubbed, and trees shall be removed where indicated. Demolition will be followed by installation of underground electrical, domestic water, sanitary sewer, and storm drainage utilities and rough and fine grading of areas to be improved. Construction to follow of new site walkways, new fountain and pond basins and mechanical infrastructure, new restroom and mechanical building, playground area, amphitheater-style seating area, synthetic turf area, passive recreation area, and construction of picnic areas with tables and barbeques. Final construction improvements will include installation of site furnishings and site landscape improvements, including planting and irrigation, and replacement of protected art components. Additional improvements include installation of wireless infrastructure for public Wi-Fi access within targeted areas of the project site, according to plans and specifications prepared by the City of Sunnyvale and according to the contract documents. Project is to be completed within a total maximum of three hundred and thirty (330) working days. Questions should be directed to Lisa Vo, Principal Buyer, (408) 730-7608, lvo@sunnyvale.ca.gov. Bid Security in an amount not less than ten percent (10%) of the total bid dollar amount and conforming to the prescribed bidding procedures is required to be submitted with each bid. Pursuant to the provisions of the California Labor Code Section 6707, if applicable to this job, each bid submitted in response to this Notice Inviting Bids shall contain, as a bid item, adequate sheeting, shoring, and bracing, or equivalent method, for the protection of life and limb in trenches and open excavation, which shall conform to applicable safety orders. Pursuant to Public Contract Code Section 22300, for monies earned by the Contractor and withheld by the City of Sunnyvale to ensure the performance of the contract, the Contractor may, at his or her option, choose to substitute securities meeting the requirements of Section 22300. To be considered, all bidders shall: Be licensed under the provisions of Chapter 9, Division 3 of the Business and Professions Code of the State of California to do the type of work contemplated in the project. The general class or type of work called for under the Contract requires a class "A" license. Perform with their own organizations work amounting to at least thirty percent (30.0%) of the contract price, except specialty items. Have completed within the last ten (10) years a minimum of three (3) projects involving work of similar type and complexity, each project valued at not less than $5,000,000.00. Meet other mandatory bid requirements set forth in the bid documents Question 05/29/2024 : Should a bidder discover conflicts or ambiguity in the bid documents that require a decision or explanation, bidder may request an interpretation. Such a request shall be made in writing and delivered to the person identified on the cover page of this bid invitation no later than five (5) working days before the deadline for receipt of bids. Every interpretation made to bidders will be in the form of an Addendum issued by the City. Addenda, if issued, will be sent as promptly as possible to all parties that have been issued bid documents. All such Addenda will become part of the bid documents and shall be binding in the same way as if originally written in the bid documents. Only properly issued addenda shall be binding upon City, any oral and/or other form of interpretation or clarification will have no legal or contractual effect. Bidders shall acknowledge the receipt of Addenda on the Bid Forms. The successful bidder shall furnish performance and payment (labor and materials) bonds, each in an amount equal to one hundred percent (100%) of the total contract price (Base Bid plus Alternates, if any) and issued by an admitted surety insurer authorized to operate in the State of California. Bidder shall be responsible for the timely delivery of bid. Bids received after the deadline for receipt of bids shall not be accepted and shall be returned to bidder unopened unless necessary for identification purposes. The City reserves the right to reject all bids; and further reserves the right to reject any bids that are found to be non-responsive or submitted by a bidder that is not responsible Contract award will be made to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder. If bids are required on a Base Bid and Additive Alternates, contract award will be based solely on the Base Bid. The acceptance of a bid will be evidenced by a written Notice of Award delivered to the successful bidder
