Site work and paving for a civil project in Bradford Township, Illinois. Completed plans call for site work for a bridge / tunnel; for paving for a bridge / tunnel; water / sewer project; and water / sewer project.
The existing bridge will be replaced with a 55'-2" long single span PPC Deck Beam bridge on metal shell piles with no skew. The approaches to the bridge will be reconstructed, graded and repaved. Riprap will be installed. A violation of section 33E-3 would be represented by a conviction of the crime of bid-rigging which, in addition to Class 3 felony sentencing, provides that any person convicted of this offense, or any similar offense of any state or the United States which contains the same elements as this offense shall be barred for 5 years from the date of conviction from contracting with any unit of State or local government. No corporation shall be barred from contracting with any unit of State or local government as a result of a conviction under this Section of any employee or agent of such corporation if the employee so convicted is no longer employed by the corporation: (1) it has been finally adjudicated not guilty or (2) if it demonstrates to the governmental entity with which it seeks to contract that entity finds that the commission of the offense was neither authorized, requested, commanded, nor performed by a director, officer or a high managerial agent on behalf of the corporation. A violation of Section 33E-4 would be represented by a conviction of the crime of bid-rotating which, in addition to Class 2 felony sentencing, provides that any person convicted of this offense or any similar offense of any state or the United States which contains the same elements as this offense shall be permanently barred from contracting with any unit of State of Local government. No corporation shall be barred from contracting with any unit of State or Local government as a result of a conviction under this Section of any employee or agent of such corporation if the employee so convicted is no longer employed by the corporation and: (1) it has been finally adjudicated not guilty or (2) if it demonstrates to the governmental entity with which it seeks to contract and that entity finds that the commission of the offense was neither authorized, requested, commanded, nor performed by a director, officer or a high managerial agent on behalf of the corporation. The proposed work included in this contract consists of: (1) the complete removal of a 31-9" bridge; (2) the construction of a new 55'-2" single span PCC Deck Beam Bridge on metal sheet piles; (3) channel excavation; (4) placement of riprap; and (5) the reconstruction of the approaches and other collateral work necessary to complete the work in accordance with the plans and specifications herein. Remove all manufactured washout containment facilities from the project area. For excavated pits, pump out and properly dispose of all remaining water, remove any hardened solids, and remove all plastic liner materials and fill pit area flush with surrounding ground. For above-grade containment facilities, pump out and properly dispose of all remaining water, remove any hardened solids, and remove all plastic liner materials and spread out earthen berms. Method of measurement: This item will not be measured for payment. Basis of payment: This item will be paid for at the contract lump sum price for Concrete Washout. Payment includes, but is not limited to, providing concrete washwater containment, collection, and disposal.
