The Village of Elberta is requesting Bids for a Water Distribution System Materials Inventory project. The project includes the Work to physically verify the materials of forty-nine (49) water customer service lines located throughout the Village. Addresses where the Work will be performed will be provided with the final Contract Documents. The Contractor will perform potholing at two locations per service line at a minimum distance of 18 inches from the curb stop. One pothole shall be excavated on each side of the curb stop to verify the pipe materials. A total of 49 associated material verifications will be completed and provided to the Village. To the extent feasible, the potholes should be located within the green belt of each service line. Pavement removal and replacement should be minimized. The anticipated depth of pipe is approximately 6 feet below grade but may be up to 8 feet in unique cases. The contractor should prepare for sandy soils and shallow groundwater in low lying areas. The Contractor will be responsible for coordinating Work in the public Right of Way with the Village's onsite representative, providing suitable backfill, handling and disposal of unsuitable spoils, and complete surface restoration of disturbed areas. The Owner will be responsible for locating curb stops for the Contractor and coordinating Contractor's Work on private property with the property owners. The date the Bidding Documents are transmitted by the Issuing Office will be considered the Bidder's date of receipt of the Bidding Documents. A pre-bid conference will not be held. A pre-construction meeting is required prior to mobilization. The Village of Elberta reserves the right to accept any bid, reject any or all bids, to waive informalities and make the award in any manner deemed in the best interest of the Village of Elberta.
