Designs will adhere to ADA compliance and local regulations, with consideration for enhancing pedestrian safety, accessibility, traffic and overall urban mobility, and optimizing drainage. Deliverables will include detailed design plans, technical specifications, cost estimates, and support throughout implementation. See Attachment D and E for applicable TAC reports and Walk Audit. The design engineer must be familiar with ADA compliance and local regulations. See Scope of Work and Site Locations below for more detail. Key items requested for the Mini Proposal in addition to requirements identified in the Mini Proposal Requirements: Resumes for Proposed Design Engineer and support staff, Comprehensive scope of work plan Schedule of design steps leading to bid date, incorporating review time for South San Francisco at each design phase. Sample PS&E Package of a project with a similar scope (including plans, specifications and engineer's estimate) Scope of Work The scope of work involves designing pedestrian and drainage infrastructure improvements at multiple locations in South San Francisco (specified in Section 2.3), including crosswalks, curb ramps, raised crossings, storm drain modifications, etc. Tasks include (but are not limited to): site assessment, design development, cost estimation, ROW certification (as needed), environmental clearance (as needed), public outreach and project management. Designs will adhere to ADA compliance and local regulations, with consideration for enhancing pedestrian safety, accessibility, traffic and overall urban mobility, and optimizing drainage. Deliverables will include detailed design plans, technical specifications, cost estimates, and support throughout implementation. The required design services will include, but not be limited to, the following: surveys, utility coordination, environmental clearance requirements, preparation of permit applications, obtaining any required permits, right-of-way investigation, public outreach, roadway, drainage, utilities, signals, signing, striping, landscaping, and such other incidental features required to complete the PS&E sets and final bid documents for the project inclusive of the tasks listed below. Consultant shall identify, include and explain the necessity for any additional tasks required to successfully deliver the final design and bid documents and shall identify each of the significant subtasks required. Consultant is strongly encouraged to propose and include innovative and other approaches and tasks that will benefit the project. The Consultant will be furnished with all existing known technical information, reports, documents, etc. that have been utilized to develop the initial conceptual exhibit of the proposed physical improvements for this project. The Consultant selected will be required to complete attached tasks and sub-tasks (see Attachment C). 2.3. Site Locations 1. Design crosswalk across Mission Road from Centennial Trail (TAC 2307-3) 2. Design to fix ponding issue at 708 Grand Avenue (Grand and Orange intersection) 3. Add raised crosswalk at Elm Ct in front of the Siebecker Pre-School (review condition and make recommendations for appropriate curb ramp and crosswalk design) 4. Sister Cities Boulevard and Hillside Boulevard intersection improvements to avoid crossing Hillside Boulevard centerline (conceptual design done by TJKM) (TAC 2308-8) 5. Add curb ramps and crosswalks along Hillside Blvd at Randolph Ave, Highland Ave, Grove Ave (review condition and make recommendations for appropriate curb ramp and crosswalk design) 6. Re-build existing curb ramps, valley gutter and add new curb ramp and raised crosswalk on Randolph Ave at Madrone Ave (review condition and make recommendations for appropriate curb ramp and crosswalk design) 7. Add curb ramps to Ponderosa Road and Lassen Street intersection (in front of Ponderosa Elementary, see ponderosa Elementary Walk Audit Report) 8. Review existing curb ramps, crosswalk layout and make recommendations to add improvements for school drop-off and pick-up at Avalon Dr and Constitution Way (see Ponderosa Elementary Walk Audit Report) 9. Intersection improvements at Miller and Chestnut to address storm drain hazard, addition of curb ramp and concrete sidewalk along Chestnut from Miller Ave to Treeside Ct. 10. Add curb ramps at Telford Ave and Park Way (2 ramps) (TAC 2308-5) 11. Add curb ramp at Spruce Ave and Park Way (1 ramp) 12. Add curb ramp at Spruce Ave and Lux Ave (1 ramp) 13. Design mid-block crosswalk in front of 740 Del Monte Ave (TAC 2111-2) 14. Add curb ramps at Palm and Acacia (TAC 2305-A) 15. Add curb ramps at Laurel and 3rd Lane The method of Contractor Selection has not been Determined at this time.
