This project includes excavation of landfill gas migration cutoff trenches at each closed landfill location, draping each trench outer wall with plastic sheeting and filling the trench with gravel. Within the gravel, install perforated horizontal pipe with vertical solid wall vent pipes that extend six feet above ground surface, solar powered vent caps, and one perforated pipe reaching the trench bottom to allow pumping of infiltrating water collected in the trench, backfilling of the trenches, and site restoration/revegetation in disturbed areas. Previously, this project was proposed with two cutoff trenches for the East Burke site and three cutoff trenches for the Kirksey Drive site. Due to constructability concerns, one trench location at the Kirksey Drive landfill is not included in this rebid proposal. Questions from Bidders are due by Monday, August 26, 2024
