The Eaton County Road Commission was awarded state earmark funds to improve the road system around a new battery plant in Delta Township, Eaton County, Michigan. The Eaton County Road Commission (ECRC) requests proposals from qualified engineering consultants to provide professional engineering services for the reconstruction of Nixon Road between Davis Highway and Mt. Hope Highway. The selected firm will be responsible for full survey, design, and construction administration to reconstruct Nixon Road to an all-season pavement section. The existing road surface is gravel with a width of 20-22 feet. The completed project will construct an all-season asphalt pavement section with a finished road surface of two 11-foot wide lanes, two 4-foot wide paved shoulders, and 2-foot wide gravel shoulders on each side. This is a direct grant, locally let project. All design shall meet AASHTO design guidelines for a 55-mph roadway and the MDOT Standard Specifications for Construction.
