RALPH EDWARDS PARK SHADE STRUCTURES The City of Truth or Consequences is looking to improve the shade structures at Ralph Edwards Park in Truth or Consequences, New Mexico. This will require the removal of existing shades and installation of new ones with regard to NM Building Standards and manufactures instructions. All potential Offerors are to read, understand and accept the requirements of this Request for Proposal Failure to comply with the instructions, terms and conditions, and specifications of this Request for Proposal (RFP) may result in your proposal being classified as non-responsive. This Request for Proposal will result in a single source award. New Mexico criminal law prohibits bribes, gratuities and kickbacks.. The purpose of the Request for Proposal (RFP) is to solicit sealed proposals to establish a contract
through competitive negotiations for the procurement of improving access to Ralph Edwards Park
for residents and tourists alike by providing new shade structures for cool and comfortable spots
at existing picnic tables and benches and addressing areas without shade.
B. SCOPE OF PROCUREMENT
1. Remove all six (6) existing shade structures, cutting the metal at ground level and
dismantling metal structures with all debris disposed of properly.
2. The purchase of all needed metal structural steel, and panel roofing for seven (7) new
shade structures, approximately 15 X 20.
3. Dig footers of appropriate size and using tube forms, form up, install rebar and poor footer
with steel reinforced metal plates for attaching and supporting new shade structures.
4. Fabricate new roof framing for shade structures by welding together 2 X 6 metal members,
and creating a new frame for shade structures.
5. Erect new frames to posts welding all framing members together on site to create all
framing for new shade structures.
6. Install new metal roofing panel 26 gauge according to manufacturers instructions and
creating a water tight roofing system.
7. Have plans drawn and pull all necessary NM State Building Standards permits for the job.
8. Paint all frames with direct to metal paint in color of the City of T or C's choice.
Please include an estimated time frame from start to finish including material wait time, and date
available for contractor to start project.
This RFP will be a single award election of Finalists Evaluation Committee June 5, 2024
