Demolition, site work, renovation and addition to a municipal facility in Richmond, Virginia. Completed plans call for the addition of a municipal facility; for the demolition of a municipal facility; for the renovation of a municipal facility; and for site work for a municipal facility.

The City of Richmond is accepting bids for the construction of the Winfree Cottage Renovation project to provide general contracting services that include, but are not limited to construction of a caretaker's suite attached to the existing structure. Bid Security Any bidder submitting a bid for a construction Contracts in excess of $100,000 shall submit to the City a bid guarantee of not less than five percent (5%) of the bid amount set forth in item 14 of the Bid Form. Such security may be a certified check or a cashier's check or a Bid Bond made payable to the Owner. The Owner may require bidders submit bid security for lesser bid amounts, however, this will be so stated in the Invitation for Bid. Additional Requirements. Nothing in this section shall preclude such Contractor from requiring each Subcontractor to furnish a Performance Bond and a Payment Bond with surety thereon in the sum of the full amount of the contract with such Subcontractor conditioned upon the faithful performance of the contract and the payment to all persons who have fulfilled contracts which are directly with the Subcontractor for performing labor and furnishing materials in the prosecution of the work provided for in the subcontract. The Contractor shall provide all services, materials, and labor as described in the project plans. This contract will not include relocating the cottage to its new location; instead, the Contractor will be responsible for surveying and preparing the site including laying foundations prior to the relocation. Following the relocation, the Contractor shall proceed with the restoration and construction of the addition. The City reserves the right to waive any informality in bids. Bids making exceptions to terms and conditions included in this Invitation may be considered, but preference may be given to those who do not make such exceptions. Rejection of Bids The City of Richmond reserves the right to reject any and all bids. If any person contemplating submitting a bid for the proposed Work is in doubt as to the true meaning of any part of the proposed Contract Documents or discrepancies of any sort between existing conditions and proposed new Work, he must submit a written request for an interpretation to the Department of Procurement Services, 900 E. Broad Street Room 1104, Richmond, Virginia 23219. The person submitting the request shall be responsible for its prompt and actual delivery by Monday, May 20, 2024 5:00 pm.
