The Town of Windsor Locks, CT is soliciting sealed bids for a drainage & roadway improvement project located on Spring Street at the intersection of West Street and extending approximately 550 linear feet to the east and west of the intersection. Question Deadline 08/09/2024 Any request from a prospective bidder for interpretation of meaning of Contract Documents shall be made in writing to the office of Barton & Loguidice Services, Inc., 41 Sequin Drive, Glastonbury, Connecticut 06033, and to be given consideration must be received at least five (5) days prior to date fixed for opening of bids. Not later than three (3) days prior to date fixed for opening of bids This project generally consists of all necessary work to complete improvements as described on the Contract Plans and Specifications for the base bid. At the intersection with West Street, improvements include new storm drainage piping and structures, modifications to the existing traffic signal to include pedestrian signals. Approximately 1,200 linear feet of bituminous concrete pavement on Spring Street and the West Street intersection will reclaimed and include the installation of new processed aggregate base and bituminous concrete pavement. Other improvements include replacement concrete sidewalks and handicapped accessible ramps, new concrete curbing, concrete and bituminous concrete driveways and replacement catch basin tops as well as associated turf restoration, pavement markings and other miscellaneous work as shown on the plans or directed by the Owner. Bid security in the form of a surety bond, certified or bank check, or a letter of credit, payable to the Town of Windsor Locks is required in the sum of 5 percent (5%) of the base Bid. Bid security shall be subject to the condition provided in the Instructions to Bidders. Upon award of the contract, the successful bidder must furnish a Performance Bond and a Payment Bond equal to 100% of the contract price, in accordance with the Contract Documents. All bonds must be from sureties registered in the State of Connecticut. No Bidder may withdraw his bid for a period of sixty (60) days after the date of bid opening. The Town of Windsor Locks reserves the right to accept or reject any or all bids or options, to waive any technicality in any bid or part thereof, and to accept any bid deemed to be in the best interest of the Town of Windsor Locks.
