A timeline for the award has not yet been established.** This project consists of the replacement of 6, 10-inch drain valves at the Chlorine Contact Basins at the South Shore Water Reclamation Facility. The valves are buried at a depth of approximately 22 feet underground and are connected to cement-lined ductile iron pipe. The work includes developing an excavation and backfill plan (requiring a Wisconsin registered Professional Engineer design certification), excavation, temporary plug or line stop installation, removal and reinstallation of the 8-inch underdrain, and replacing 6 valves, including furnishing and installing new spool pieces and associated piping modifications, testing the system for leaks, backfilling the excavated area, and restoration with topsoil and turf grass. The work also includes the removal of the existing drain line plugs within the North Basin.
