Update: The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has mandated that Phosphorus levels be lowered for all dischargers to waters of the Wisconsin River. The limits were determined by using a study called the Total Maximum Daily Load or TMDL. A schedule to comply with this has been laid out for us, which states plant upgrades be completed by 8/31/2025. This portion of the upgrade would decouple aeration and mixing in the oxidation ditches to enhance performance of biological phosphorus removal.
