The work includes. Removal and disposal of asbestos containing materials and re-insulation as called out in the specifications. Each Bid must be accompanied by a Bid security in the amount of five percent (5%) of the total value of the Bid in the form of a Bid bond or certified/treasurer's check. Pursuant to M.G.L. c. 149, 29, the Contractor shall furnish a performance bond in an amount of 100% of the total Contract price and a payment bond in an amount of 100% of the total Contract price from a surety company qualified to do business under the laws of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and satisfactory to the City or furnished and materials used or employed therein, when the Contract is executed. Bidder must agree to commence "work" on or before the date stipulated in the Notice-to-Proceed of the Owner for each phase.
