(WSAZ) - “There’s just a satisfaction in taking in one of those animals to love and care for when you know they weren’t taken care off,” says Tiffany DeBord Director of Putnam County Animal Shelter DeBord’s passion for animals has driven her to make necessary changes to keep the animals safe. The floors underneath the kennels are cracked, making it difficult for DeBord and her team to properly clean them. The Putnam County Animal Shelter has received a grant to fix the cracks in the floor. “The commission actually applied for a grant last year and we were awarded a grant that will help with the costs” DeBord said. On July 8, the new floors installed to repair the cracks and make sure the kennels stay safe and clean for the animals who are waiting adoption. DeBord said, “So right now, that’s our most important thing is making sure everybody is comfortable and safe and clean, and the best way to do that right now is to get them all into a home so we can get that process completed. ___________________________________________ Putnam County Animal Shelter. The project involves work relating to removal and reinstallation of resinous flooring at the Putnam County Animal Shelter. This work also includes disassembly and reassembly of the dog kennels. See supplemental instructions to bidders for more information. After the scheduled closing time for receipt of Bids, no Bid may be withdrawn for a period of 60 days. A certified check in the amount of five percent (5%) of the total Bid, or a satisfactory Bid Bond furnished by a solvent surety company authorized to do business in the state of West Virginia in an amount equal to five percent (5%) of the total Bid must be submitted with each Bid. The successful Bidder will be required to execute a contract and provide a Performance Bond, a Labor and Material Payment Bond for 100% of the contract award. All Prime Contractors and Subcontractors shall be licensed in compliance with SB409 (WV Contractor's Licensing Act).
