Renovation of an educational facility in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.

The Board reserves the right to adjust quantities, accept or reject any or all proposals, and to waive informalities and irregularities as it deems in its best interest. Proposals received after date and time are subject to rejection. The purpose of this request for proposal is to provide interested suppliers with sufficient information to enable them to prepare and submit proposals for consideration by the Central Dauphin School District for the replacement of the fire alarm system at Linglestown Elementary School. This work shall include furnishing of all material, labor, tools, and equipment necessary to complete all phases of the work performed in accordance with these specifications. Communicated information regarding this bid, will be accepted in written form only. Questions submitted after this time may not receive a response SCOPE OF PROJECT i. The replacement fire alarm system project consists of the following equipment /work items: 1. Label or mark all existing wiring, consisting of (1) Mapnet loop, 11 signal circuits, 1 relay circuit, 1 communications circuit to slave dialer in kitchen mechanical room. 2. Replace fire panel located in the main vestibule. Current panel is recessed into the wall, and replacement must include any required retrofit/trim materials. Current model is Simplex 4020 fire panel. 3. Replace initiating devices in the building as a one for one replacement using the existing fire alarm cable. Devices will use serial communications. Notification devices will remain if possible. Notification devices are not synced. Provide for notification device synchronization. 4. Replace NAC panel (surface mount). Trigger can be changed to serial communications (currently I/O). Serial loop is located in the hall drop. 5. Signal for the sprinkler bell is currently handled via a Simplex ZAM. To be replaced with modern equivalent or a spare signal circuit could be used if the existing power cabling for the signal ZAM is homerun to the panel. 6. Install one (1) Carbon Monoxide detector and (1) Heat Detector OR (Carbon Monoxide/Heat Detector combination in the Kitchen Main Area (Serial loop for hood relay in room). 7. Install one (1) Carbon Monoxide detector and (1) Heat Detector OR (Carbon Monoxide/Heat Detector combination in the kitchen between the mechanical room and storage area (serial loop for hood relay in room). 8. Install (1) Heat Detector in Kitchen Mechanical Room (Serial loop for Pull Station in room. 9. Install two (2) Carbon Monoxide detectors and two (2) Heat Detectors OR two (2) Carbon Monoxide/Heat Detector combination devices in Boiler Room (Serial loop for Pull Station in room, comm line in hall above ceiling). Note -boiler room has a 25' ceiling. 10.Devices will t-tap into the existing addressable loop. 11.Conduit is needed for all locations, approximately 100' in total. 12.Carbon Monoxide, CO sensors will report to the fire panel, but will not sound locally at the device. 13.Provide optional pricing to install and monitor a Cellular, IP, or Cellular/IP communicator for system monitoring. System currently communicates via output relays to slave dialer located in the kitchen area mechanical room. Current system is monitored by Johnson Controls Fire Protection. 14.Programming of the new panel. 15. Test to verify operation. The district requires a functional certification test of new devices and close-out documentation on the project. 16. The proposals submitted by vendors should include prevailing wage rates, equipment as listed, including freight/destination charges, installation of equipment, cable, raceway, and boxes, installation of FACP, installation of devices, device terminations, panel terminations, technical support, software programming.
