Demolition, site work, paving and new construction of a civil project in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. Completed plans call for the demolition of a bridge / tunnel; for the construction of a bridge / tunnel; for site work for a bridge / tunnel; for paving for a bridge / tunnel; road / highway; road / highway; and water / sewer project.

This project includes the removal of the existing single span steel bridge with reinforced concrete deck and replacement with a 2-span continuous composite prestressed concrete bulb tee beam bridge. The contract also includes reconstruction of SR 2012 (Lower Macungie Rd), SR 2042 (Little Spur Rd), Twp (Millrace Rd), utility installations, drainage modifications, signing and pavement markings, and the construction of the Turnpike median/shoulder. Work will also include the maintenance and protection of traffic. Work items include, but are not limited to: 69,533 CY Excavation, Various Classes 11,541 TON Superpave Asphalt Mixtures, Various Courses, Various Depths 7,968 TON Subbase, No. 2A 1,261 LF Drainage Pipe, Various Sizes and Types 1,941 LF Guide Rail, Various Types 4,673 LF Temporary Concrete Barrier 2,790 CY Cement Concrete, Various Classes 6,600 CY Selected Borrow Excavation, Structure Backfill 8,740 SF Architectural Surface Treatment 1,382 LF Prestressed Concrete PA Bulb-Tee Beam, Various Sizes 10,509 LF Steel HP10X57 Production Pile 354,900 LB Reinforcement Bars, Epoxy Coated Milepost A-53.36 is located approximately 3.8 miles south of the Allentown Interchange, Exit 56, and 9.4 miles north of the Quakertown Interchange, Exit 44, in Lehigh County, Pennsylvania. Any questions for this project must be submitted electronically in EBS by registered business partners by noon on the Friday before the bid opening date. An electronic bid bond, from an approved vendor, with corporate surety, in the amount of five (5%) percent of the bid must be submitted with the proposal as bid security. The bid security of the three (3) low bidders will be retained until the execution of the contract. (The normal time for execution of the contract is approximately four [4] weeks.) Cost Range: $20,000,000.00 - $30,000,000.00 *The value for this project is based on a financial range. The value is listed as the highest possible cost from the range provided by a stakeholder or official project document.
