Q&A Deadline June 25, 2024 12:00 PM (PDT) The work may consist of but is not limited to: resurfacing of various local and arterial streets within the City of Palmdale as described in the project maps, including but not limited to City of Palmdale coordination and permitting, public notification, Caltrans coordination and permitting, traffic control plan development, traffic control implementation and maintenance, spatial inventory of utility infrastructure at the surface, micro-milling, roadway surface preparation, crack sealing / filling, skin patching, asphalt-concrete leveling course installation, asphalt-rubber aggregate membrane (ARAM) chip sealing, slurry sealing, cold milling, asphalt overlay with PMAC, adjustment of utility infrastructure, traffic loop replacement, signing and thermoplastic striping. This project has Base Bid Nos. 1 - 14 along with Additive Alternate A (Bid Item Nos. 15 - 18) and Additive Alternate B (Bid Item No. 19). The bidder must propose on all. The Base Bid Items consist of primary items. The Additive Alternate Bid Items represent two different resurfacing treatments for the cul-de-sacs in the project areas , which include a modified ARAM Cape Seal or a 1.5-in mill and 2.0-in PMAC overlay, in accordance with the project plans and specifications. City will expect awarded Contractor to be ready to start work within 2 weeks of award by City Council due to the limited weather window. The Project includes, without limitation, furnishing all necessary labor, materials, equipment, and other incidental and appurtenant Work necessary to satisfactorily complete the Project, as more specifically described in the Contract Documents. This Work will be performed in strict conformance with the Contract Documents, permits from regulatory agencies with jurisdiction, and applicable regulations. The quantity of Work to be performed and materials to be furnished are approximations only, being given as a basis for the comparison of Bids. Actual quantities of Work to be performed may vary at the discretion of the City Engineer and/or his designee.
