The objective of the project is to install a new section of 12-inch ductile iron water main and appurtenances crossing the Arroyo de la Laguna Creek. The contract will be awarded to the responsible Bidder submitting the lowest responsive bid. Bid discounts may be applied as per San Francisco Administrative Code Chapter 14B and Section 2.01 of Attachment 6. The Local Business Enterprise (LBE) subcontracting requirement is 10.00%. The LBE subcontracting requirement can only be met with certified San Francisco Micro and Small-LBEs and SFPUC Micro & Small-LBEs. Due to the location of the project, approximately 50 miles outside of San Francisco. Also, an LBE outreach was performed. The results of the outreach efforts shows that there is limited LBE availability to perform the work on this project. In accordance with San Francisco Administrative Code Chapter 6, the City and County of San Francisco will not accept any offer/bid or award any contract in excess of $1,000,000 until such time as (a) the General Manager of the San Francisco Public Utilities Commission recommends the contract for award and (b) the San Francisco Public Utilities Commission then adopts a resolution awarding the contract.
