Bids must be submitted in accordance with the attached specifications. Bids must include an itemized schedule (including quantity, unit price and total) for each work element. Bids can be submitted by mail, email, fax or hand delivered. Cover sheets, envelopes, etc. should be clearly marked with the words: "City of Havelock, Bulk Salt Bid for Water Treatment" Quotes are not subject to public inspection until the contract is awarded. The bids are good for 30 days after opening. The winning bidder will be issued a Notice of Award. The City of Havelock reserves the right to reject any or all proposals and to purchase items from the state contract in the efforts to award the contract to the bidder it deems to be for the best interest of the City This institution is an equal opportunity provider, and employer. For questions in regards to the bid specifications, the City requires and only responds to questions submitted in writing and sent via email to: Bids@havelocknc.us Questions must be received by 2:00 PM (EST) on Thursday, May 30, 2024. If questions are received, the City will respond no later than 12:00 PM (EST) on Wednesday, June 5, 2024. The City of Havelock is requesting pricing for Bulk Solar Salt, (Water Plant Grade not road application type), delivered in approximately 25 ton loads via pneumatic truck to our water plant in Havelock, NC. The price of this salt shall be fixed and firm, expressed per ton including all freight & delivery charges. Supplied price shall be valid for 30 days for award purposes and upon award shall remain in effect until June 30, 2025. Estimated usage will be 2-3 truckloads (50-75 tons) per month or 600-900 tons for the contract period, depending on water system demand. Time between Requisition by the City and actual Delivery is critical for scheduling purposes and we require that you state that. Water Treatment plant hours are from 6:00am to 3:30pm (Monday through Friday) for delivery purposes.
