The work shall be commenced on the date stated in the District's purchase order for each specific project assigned. The Contractor shall complete all work required as agreed to by District Representative for each project assigned. Each project will have a set duration to be determined by the District and Contractor at the time of project cost out. The contract resulting from award of this bid will cover the period from July 1, 2024 through June 30, 2025. Each bidder shall be a licensed contractor pursuant to the Business and Professions Code and shall be licensed in the following classifications: a B - General Contractor or C-15 - Flooring and Floor Covering. The District shall award the Contract for the Project to the bidder submitting the lowest bid as determined from the unit pricing provided based on quantity estimates included on the bid, and is deemed responsive and responsible by the District. Bids must be accompanied by cash, a certified or cashier's check, or a Bid Bond in favor of the District in the amount of $25,000. Each bid shall also be accompanied by the non-collusion affidavit, the list of proposed subcontractors, and all additional documentation required by the Instructions to Bidders. The successful bidder will be required to furnish the District with a Performance Bond and a Payment Bond in the amount of $25,000, prior to execution of the Contract. If any one project or accumulation of projects exceeds $25,000, the contractor will be required to increase the existing Performance and Payment Bonds to one hundred percent (100%) of the project(s) total. Pursuant to Public Contract Code Section 22300, the successful bidder may substitute certain securities for funds withheld by District to ensure his performance under the Contract.
