Site work and paving for a road / highway in Newton, Illinois. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway; and for paving for a road / highway.
Location: 1200E from 1900N to Rose Hill North City Limits 1200E from Rose Hill South City Limits to 1650N. Description of work: Reconstruction of the existing roadway with an 8" soil- cement base course. The County, in accordance with the laws of the State of Illinois, hereby notifies all bidders that it will affirmatively insure that the contract entered into pursuant to this advertisement will be awarded to the lowest responsible bidder without discrimination on the ground of race, color or national origin. The right is reserved to reject any and all proposals and to waive technicalities. Proposal guarantee in the amount of not less than 5% of the bid, or as provided in Article 102.09 of the "Standard Specifications for Road and Bridge Construction" prepared by the Department of Transportation, will be required. Where a surety bond is not required, the proposal guarantee of the successful bidder will be held in lieu thereof. Failure on the part of the Contractor to perform the work within the time specified or to do the work as specified herein will be considered just cause to forfeit his surety as provided in Article 108.11 of the "Standard Specifications".
