Renovation of a communication facility in Richmond, Rhode Island. Completed plans call for the renovation of a communication facility.
As of August 21, 2024, this project has not yet been awarded. A timeline for the award has not yet been established. The requirements specified in this document apply to all new support structures designed and constructed for the Town of Richmond. The project includes the implementation of a lattice tower, fencing, cement work, and a ground-level communications shelter. The new tower location is:147 Shannock Hill Road, Richmond, RI 41.46236 & -71.63805 Type: Lattice Height: 160 Ft Existing Town radio equipment at this site; new generator to be used Proposed antennas may include: Police VHF repeater antenna Fire Department VHF/UHF repeater antenna DPW VHF repeater antenna RIEMA 800 MHz repeater antenna Microwave antennas 911 GIS antenna Future antennas In order for Proposers to determine the scope of work for the proposed towers, a site tour will be conducted on the day of the pre-Proposal conference. The purpose of this visit is for each potential Proposer to gather information on conditions that will assist in the accurate preparation of costs for installation labor and services, equipment, materials and site improvements, including grounding conditions. The Richmond project team will escort Proposers to the site. Participants in the site visit must provide their own transportation. This specification is intended to provide technical and functional specifications for the planning, transportation, construction, and completion of a radio communications tower and support structures. This will include transportation of a disassembled lattice tower from the Town of Glocester, RI, to the project location at 147 Shannock Hill Road, located in the Town of Richmond, RI. This specification provides Proposers with detailed technical requirements necessary to design the proposed structures; and, to identify civil work that must be complied with for the performance of the project. Variance from these specifications may be considered acceptable where the alternative solution meets the objectives of the supported facilities and services in a more cost-effective manner, taking total cost of ownership in to account. Performance Bond: The successful Bidder will be required to provide a performance bond, and a labor and materials payment bond, issued by a company authorized to do business in Rhode Island and satisfactory to the Town, each bond being in the amount of 100 percent of the Contract Amount.
