Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in Grinnell, Iowa. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway; for paving for a road / highway; sidewalk / parking lot; sidewalk / parking lot; and water / sewer project.

1. Installation of approximately 2,165 linear feet of new 16" diameter raw water main; including 100 linear feet of trenchless construction in steel casing pipe crossing under Union Pacific Railroad right-of-way. 2. Installation of approximately 2,065 linear feet of new 12" diameter raw water main; 3. Installation of approximately 1,295 linear feet of new 8" diameter finished water main and appurtenances; 4. Fittings, hydrants, valves, and other appurtenances required for water main construction; 5. Pavement removal and replacement, including replacement of approximately 1,110 square yards of 6" PCC driveway, approximately 615 square yards of 6" full-depth PCC pavement patches, replacement of approximately 540 square yards of 4" PCC sidewalk, and sidewalk accessibility upgrades; 6. Temporary traffic control; 7. Erosion control; 8. Site dewatering as required for construction, and; 9. All other work as required by the contract documents. The Work shall be performed generally adjacent to the existing Water Treatment Plant, located at 702 Main Street, south and east along 1st Avenue to existing Jordan Well No. 8, located at 1513 1st Avenue. Work on the improvement shall commence within 30 days after the Effective Date of the Contract, or on the day indicated in the Notice to Proceed. The Notice to Proceed will be issued upon approval of the contract and bonds by the City Council. The work shall be substantially completed on or before August 1, 2025, and ready for final payment in accordance with Paragraph 15.06 of the General Conditions on or before November 1, 2025. Failure to meet either the Substantial Completion date or Final Completion date will result in liquidated damages of $1,000.00 per calendar day. All bids must be filed in the office of the City Clerk before the time herein set on forms furnished by the Owner, and must be enclosed in a separate sealed envelope and plainly identified. Each bid shall be accompanied by bid security as defined in Iowa Code Section 26.8, and in the amount of 5% of the total amount of the bid, asspecified in the Bidding Documents, as security that if awarded a contract, the bidder will enter into a contract at the prices bid and furnish the required performance and payment bonds and Certificate of Insurance. The successful Bidder will be required to furnish Performance and Payment Bonds acceptable to the Owner on forms provided in the specifications in amounts equal to one hundred percent (100%) of the contract price.
