Site work and paving for a road / highway in Fairfield, Ohio. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway; and for paving for a road / highway.
2024 Paving Improvements Project, as described in the Project Documents. Each bid shall be accompanied by a Bid Guarantee meeting requirements of Section 153.54 of the Ohio Revised Code. Said guarantee may be in the form of a bond (ORC 153.571) or a certified check, cashiers check, or letter of credit meeting requirements of 153.54. The Board of Education reserves the right to waive irregularities in bids, to accept or reject all or any bids, to accept or reject all or any parts of bids, and to conduct such investigation as necessary to determine bidder responsibility. No bids may be withdrawn for at least sixty (60) days after the scheduled closing time for receipt of bids. GENERAL SCOPE OF WORK Striping: Stripe entire lot as per existing layout unless specified otherwise by Owner. Standard Duty Asphalt Pavement Excavate proposed area to a maximum depth of 12". All spoils removed off site. Compact existing sub grade with a smooth drum roller. Install 8" ODOT 304 aggregate base Install 2" ODOT 301 asphalt base. Install 2" ODOT 448 asphalt surface 2" Overlay and Grind (SY): 2" Overlay as field marked. Grinding as needed for transitions and drainage. Clean proposed area and apply an ODOT 407 Tack coat, applied by a truck mounted asphalt distributor. Install 2" ODOT Asphalt Surface. Standard construction practices will be followed. 2" Grind and Pave (SY): Remove the top 2" existing asphalt pavement as field marked. Clean proposed area and apply an ODOT 407 Tack coat, applied by a truck mounted asphalt distributor. Install 2" ODOT Asphalt Surface. Standard construction practices will be followed. 4" Grind and Pave (SY): Remove the top 4" existing asphalt pavement as field marked. Clean proposed area and apply an ODOT 407 Tack coat, applied by a truck mounted asphalt distributor. Install 2.5" compacted thickness ODOT Asphalt Base followed by 1.5" ODOT Asphalt Surface. Standard construction practices will be followed. 6" Grind and Pave (SY): Remove the top 6" existing asphalt pavement as field marked. Clean proposed area and apply an ODOT 407 Tack coat, applied by a truck mounted asphalt distributor. Install 4" compacted thickness ODOT Asphalt Base followed by 2" ODOT Asphalt Surface. Standard construction practices will be followed. Seal Coat (SF): Remove all debris with mechanically powered brooms and walk behind blowers. Apply two coats of Petroleum Resin Sealer with 3 lbs. of #70 silica sand per gal. diluted to 25% or less. Crack Sealing (LF): Placement of asphalt emulsion into non-working cleaned pavement cracks. Clean by burning or blowing out all vegetation and fill cracks with standard crack Sealant 3 inches in width. Additional Information: o Contractor is responsible for documenting existing layout of existing pavement markings. o Contractor shall summit all material tickets with invoice for payment. o Contractor shall follow all OSHA safety requirements. o Contractor shall complete all permit applications. o Contractor is to complete work when school is NOT in session unless otherwise agreed upon by Owner. o Contractor receiving bid award shall submit a one (1) year warranty on striping. In the event of abnormal wear, flaking or chipping, contractor shall restripe affected areas at no cost to Fairfield City School District. o All work done to accepted industry standards. All debris generated by job will be re moved from the site daily unless otherwise agreed upon by Owner and materials secured or barricaded at the end of each day. Any damage caused to the site by this installation needs to be corrected at the completion of the job.
